On May 19, TASS hosted a press conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Innopolis. The speakers summed up the results and outlined plans for the development of the city.
Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that Innopolis plays an important role in ensuring Russia's technological sovereignty. The city is developing not only as an IT center, but also as an industrial site — by 2026, 9 new factories will be operating here.
Dmitry Vandyukov, the mayor of Innopolis, stressed that the city is vibrant, sustainable and economically efficient: 75% of investments are private, tax revenues already exceed government investments, and Innopolis has become a home for 525 children.
Renat Khalimov, CEO of the Innopolis SEZ, said that their figures are doubling every 5 years. Every year, 40-50 new companies from 170 applications enter the site. More than 1,000 residents are expected by 2035. The sanctions were the impetus for growth — Innopark filled up in just a year. At the same time, the priority now is not only import substitution, but also technology export.
Iskander Bariev, director of Innopolis University, said that graduates receive at least 5 offers. The University is creating a network of 30 robotics centers and is one of the top 6 artificial intelligence centers in Russia.
Alexander Gasnikov, rector of the University, noted that students create startups every year, some worth billions of rubles. About 1,000 patents are issued per year, the university is actively implementing AI in education and increasing international cooperation.
